All throughout high school, I've written for academic purpose, and just for a grade in your typical english or history class. However, in this last year I've started to publish articles on the odyssey website, to share on social media. I don't have much experience with narrative, and seem to struggle with it the most during this class. I hope to gain a better knowledge in writing and using the make meaning process.
Throughout this semester in my English 100 class at Delaware County Community College we have been assigned to post blogs weekly to us the make meaning process while writing to improve ourselves as authors. Most recently we have been writing narratives in our blogs. Blog post #3 Composing an Emotional Scene I was able to write about a happy emotional time in my life. Writing about this time allowed me to revisit a time in my life that impacted me, and how I wrote it allowed the readers to vision it the way I experienced it. In blog post #4 Composing an Emotional Scene with Dialogue and Symbolism I was allowed to compose an emotional scene about my college experience, and how it impacted my life. While writing this blog I used the writing techniques I learned throughout this course of using dialogue and symbolism which was the plot of the whole story. In blog post #5 My Narrative Project: A Wizard-of-Oz-Journey it was a reflection of writing my narrative. Writing this opened my eyes to see how I needed to improve my narrative and memoir. My memoir was not long enough or containing enough emotions as it should. This class thus far has taught me better techniques of writing and the joy in writing through your emotion
